After the course you should be able to...
- ...create web pages using html and css
- ...analyze problems and evaluate and choose appropriate design and construct solutions in the form of programs in the programming language JavaScript
- ...describe a web browsers different internal components and their interactions including browser security mechanisms
- ...create web applications were JavaScript, HTML and CSS have clear roles and are clearly separated
- ...store and with asynchronous communication, transfer data with for the task appropriate data formats
- ...create optimized and accessible custom single page applications with offline support and which takes advantage of the browser's native APIs
Approach
- The course is devided into three parts
- Part 1: HTML & CSS, The JavaScript lang
- Part 2: DOM, Ajax and storage
- Part 3: SPA (Single page applications)

- 2 Peer Instructions (part 2 and 3)
- Tutoring each week (campus and distance)
- 3 examination assignments (one per part)
- 2 oral hearings (Examination 2 and 3)
Part 1
HTML, CSS and the JavaScript language
Goals:
- Create web pages using html and css
- Bridge between Java (Classical Object Oriented Language) and JavaScript

DOM, Ajax and storage
Goals:
- Describe a web browsers different internal components and their interactions including browser security mechanisms.
- The web browser (internal structure, security models, developer tools)
Part 2
DOM, Ajax and storage
Goals:
- Create web applications were JavaScript HTML and CSS have clear roles and are clearly separated.
- JavaScript in relation to CSS and HTML
- DOM (traversing, selecting, manipulating)
- Handling events in the browser

- Store and with asynchronous communication, transfer data with for the task appropriate data formats.
